Starcraft Universe MMO-Mod World-of-Starcraft

Vor fast 3 Monaten berichtete ich zum ersten Mal von StarCraft Universe, einem MMO Mod für StarCraft 2. Die Modifikation sah damals schon recht vielversprechend aus und gilt als eine Art „World of Starcraft„, da es stark an World of Warcraft angelehnt ist, nur im StarCraft-Universum spielt.

Die Modifikation ist natürlich nur mit dem Original StarCraft 2 spielbar und kann als benutzerdefinierte Starcraft-Map runtergeladen und gespielt werden. Aktuell ist eine Testversion teilweise spielbar. Angeblich soll dies erst mal nur bis zum 30. Oktober möglich sein. Wer die Modifikation testen möchte, sollte also jetzt die Gelegenheit nutzen. Einfach im Battle.net nach „StarCraft Universe“ suchen.

Vor allem auf Grund des anfänglichen Namens „World of Starcraft“ wurde das Projekt zunächst von Blizzard nicht gerne gesehen. Doch dann traf man sich mit den Entwicklern und nun unterstützt Blizzard das Projekt offiziell.

Starcraft 2 Mod: StarCraft Universe

Mit „StarCraft Universe“ ist derzeit ein neues StarCraft MMO mit Hilfe des StarCraft 2 Editors in der Mache. Es soll eine Art „World of Starcraft“ werden und sieht schon sehr vielversprechend aus. Zunächst fürchteten die Hobby-Entwickler, welche an dem Projekt arbeiten, dass Blizzard darin eine ungewollte Konkurrenz zum eigenen MMO-Projekt Titan sehe und gegen das Fan-Projekt StarCraft Universe vorgehen würde. Statt dessen lud Blizzard die Macher zu sich ein und schaute sich die Sache genauer an. Dabei wusste StarCraft Universe offenbar zu überzeugen, denn Blizzard unterstützt das Projekt jetzt offiziell. Das erste Gameplayvideo könnt ihr nun bestaunen. Viel Spaß damit!

Verbesserte Funktionen zum Beitreten eigener Spiele

Mit dem Patch 1.3 hat Blizzard das Menü zum Beitreten eigener Spiele verbessert:

# Lieblingsmaps kann man jetzt mit einem Lesezeichen kennzeichnen, um sie leichter zu finden

# Details zu offenen Spielen erhält man nun über Tooltips, wenn man mit dem über das Spiel geht. Hier kann man auch sehen wie oft eine Map mit Lesezeichen versehen wurde

# Es gibt jetzt eine Auswahl verschiedener Listen, aus dennen Maps ausgewählt werden können:

> Beliebt (die meistgespielten Spiele)
> Empfohlen (Empfholene Karten)
> Nach Kategorie (um eine bestimmte Art auszuwählen)
> Angesagt (Spiele, die von Mitspielern empfohlen wurden)
> Top oder Flop (Nach dem Spiel wird man gefragt, ob die Map gefallen hat oder nicht, das beeinflusst dann die Sektion „Angesagt“)
> Lesezeichen (Deine Favoriten)

# Suchfunktion wurde hinzugefügt. Wenn der Name der Karte bekannt ist, kann er hier einfach eingegeben werden.
